: Greetings

Thank you for using Nippon Metal Hose products.President Tsutomu HashimotoPresident Tsutomu Hashimoto

In April 1949, our predecessor, Nippon Metal Hose Works, Ltd., was established in Oi-cho, Oi-gun, in Fukui Prefecture. At the former Hongo factory, we started the manufacture and sales of interlock-type flexible metal hose from copper alloy, stainless steel, and iron.

After that, we succeeded in producing a seamless flexible hose using a copper alloy (in 1953) and then succeeded in producing the first interlock-type oxygen hose for converters in iron works (in 1957) and the first welded pipe using ultra-thin stainless-steel strip (in 1958) in Japan.

Subsequently, we succeeded in producing a thin wall bellows expansion joint using stainless steel by the roll forming method and an air supply pipe for train air brakes using a copper alloy after the announcement of the national plan to develop the Shinkansen (both in 1959). By committing to the development of products that respond to customer needs during the rapid economic growth period of the 1950s, we played an important role as a leader in the industry.。

In the 1960s, we established the current bellows manufacturing method following the success in producing bellows by hydroforming (in 1965).

In the 1970s, we started the production of large diameter curved pipe pressure balanced expansion joints for power generation (in 1975) and successfully produced Japan’s first expansion joint for the diesel engines used to power ships (in 1977). Based on that achievement, we also produced expansion joints from nickel alloy steel for the gas turbine engines in naval vessels of the Ministry of Defense. It was the first of its kind domestically produced (in 1982).

After changing the company name to Nippon Metal Hose Co., Ltd., in 1983, we have steadily provided products to customers in domestic shipyards, manufacturers of diesel marine engines, power plant manufacturers, and iron works.

In February 1993, we established the Japan-China joint venture company Shanghai Yongxin Corrugate Pipe Co., Ltd., in Shanghai, China, which became the foundation of our overseas business strategy. This allowed us to provide even more large products and to start producing large-diameter expansion joints and square expansion joints for coal fired power plant ducts. In these ways, we have grown to this day by responding to customer needs for more than 60 years.

We will continue our untiring efforts to overcome challenges by bearing in mind our corporate philosophy, contribute to technological advances that help to create the future, and become a company that supports the lives of people around the world in compliance with our code of behavior and the seven NMH monozukuri principles. We would like to connect the world with the products we create.
Joint the world
Please count on us, Nippon Metal Hose, to meet your expectations.
